This photo shows a list of 'friend requests' from fake profiles I have received in the last few weeks. There are so many fake profiles pretending to represent equestrian events, trying to add you as a friend on Facebook. Here’s why you should NEVER accept friend requests from these accounts:

1. 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 & 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞 – Legitimate events communicate via their official Facebook business page, not personal profiles.

2. 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 – These personal accounts claim to offer live streams of the event but are just trying to scam you into signing up for fake services to steal your credit card information and money.

3. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 – Accepting these requests could expose your personal information to scammers. Stay safe by reporting and blocking any suspicious profiles.

4. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 - Accepting these friend requests give social proof to others who may think they are legitimate, just because so and so friend has accepted.

Stick with the official club or association Facebook page for all updates, live stream details, and results.
